What makes coffee taste nutty?
Craving a comforting cup of nutty coffee?
If you love roasted hazelnut, almond, nougat, praline, milk chocolate, and caramel sweetness, the flavour profiles of these classic coffees come down to two things: the bean's terroir (where it’s grown) and the craft of the roaster.
Certain growing regions - e.g., Central America, Brazil and Colombia - naturally produce coffee with nutty notes, but the magic continues in our roastery. As the fibre of the coffee breaks down under heat, we remove it from the roaster. The best nutty coffee beans keep their character (terroir) and develop the rich, caramelised flavours you know and love.

Head to St. Luke’s (locally known as the ‘Bombed-Out church’). You’ll find yourself at the bottom of Bold Street, where we’re just a couple of minutes walk up the road.

Decaffeinated using the natural sugarcane E.A. process at origin, El Buho preserves the complex character of the Arabica plant, making it a coffee you can drink any time of day.

A coffee you can return to at any time of day. El Buho is decaffeinated at origin using the Natural Sugarcane E.A. process, preserving structure and sweetness while gently removing caffeine.
Roasted as an omni roast for both espresso and filter, it delivers a sweet, complex cup with low perceived acidity and a rounded profile.
San Isidro
Sourced from Nariño, Colombia, San Isidro is a nutty coffee that leans into a familiar chocolatey edge. Up front, you'll taste roasted hazelnut and milk chocolate, with candied orange at the end.

Nutty Coffee FAQs
Does nutty coffee contain nuts?
No. When a coffee is described as ‘nutty’, it’s usually in reference to the tasting notes - flavours that remind you of almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts or toasted nuts.
It doesn’t automatically mean nuts have been added. However, please always check the individual product label for allergen information, though, especially if you have a nut or peanut allergy.
Are there any syrups or artificial flavourings added?
No, not unless you ask for them (or add them yourself at home!) Our nutty coffees get their flavour from the terroir (where the coffee was grown), the processing method and roast profile.
