Our story
After opening our doors on Bold Street back in 2010, we wanted to make lovers of standout speciality coffee feel at home. That goal has taken us from a single shop to a small family of coffee shops in Manchester, Liverpool and Glossop. Our Manchester chapter started on Cross Street in December 2021, followed by University Green a year later.
Our expansion continued in Spinningfields (our third site in the city), so whether you’re dashing between meetings or strolling by the Irwell, there’s a BSC nearby pouring the speciality coffee Manchester locals love.Wondering what’s in our cups? We roast our coffee in-house but keep things fresh with guest coffee on rotation. On the counter, you’ll find our much-loved brunch menu and fresh made-in-house pastries for that mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

Situated between the Royal Exchange and St Ann’s Square, guests will find our Cross Street location (53 Cross Street, Manchester M2 4JN).
(Travelling by tram? St Peter’s Square or Exchange Square are a short stroll away, and both are on the Metrolink City Zone).

University Green, Manchester
For the on-campus speciality coffee Manchester students and professionals rely on, you can find our University Green café at 140 Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9GP (in the University Green development on the Oxford Road Corridor).
(Buses serve Oxford Road all day, and the corridor is set up for easy public transport and cycling).

Our Coffee
As an independent coffee shop in Manchester, our first stop is always the coffee.
We roast in-house and keep things lively with guest lots from independent roasters, so the line-up in our grinders stays fresh and seasonal.
If you’ve visited us before, you’ll know we like sharing what’s new just as much as we love pouring the favourites. Head for coffee in Manchester, and you’ll experience the full BSC experience at Cross Street, University Green and Spinningfields.
Decaf gets equal care. Passiflora from Tolima brings hazelnut, Biscoff and brown sugar to the cup without the caffeine. Whether you buy a bag in store or online, you can choose whole beans or a grind that suits how you brew.

Coffee & Hot Drinks
When you come to our coffee shop in Manchester, a full line-up is guaranteed! Starting with espresso for a short, intense hit or a long black or Americano for a lighter take.
Milk drinks include piccolo and cortado for those who like it small, flat white for a velvety double shot with microfoam, plus cappuccino and latte for a gentler balance.
You’ll also find batch brew for quick filter, mocha for a chocolate twist, and tea-based favourites like matcha and chai. Hot chocolate’s also on the menu, and little ones or pets can enjoy our Babaccinos and Puppaccinos.
Cold Drinks

Sample classics like iced latte, flat white and Americano, alongside iced mocha, chocolate, chai and matcha. There’s also cold brew, plus iced tea and an Arnold Palmer made with fruit iced tea topped with Fritz lemonade.
For something bottled or canned, look for Daily Dose juices, the Fritz-Kola range and MOMO Kombucha. We’ve even got Maté on the menu.
Food
Stopped for coffee in Manchester, and starting to feel peckish? At BSC, breakfast and lunch run all day.
Our Buoys are toasted brioche buns filled with our famous scrambled eggs and melted cheese, with choices like bacon or sausage, plus a Vegan Buoy with an aubergine patty, mushrooms and smashed avocado.
Beyond the Buoys you’ll find butties, eggs on toast, pancakes, French toast, porridge and sides, with fresh pastries on the counter each morning.

You can. Click & Collect is live across Manchester – choose your nearest site and pick up when it’s ready.
