Our story
We opened our doors on Bold Street in 2010 with a simple goal: to become the go-to spot for coffee in Liverpool. From day one, it’s been about good coffee, good people, and keeping things welcoming. What started on our namesake street has grown across the city and over to Manchester.
Now, you’ll find us serving coffee and food from our original Bold Street shop, The Plaza, Duke Street Market, and the Matchworks in Liverpool, plus Cross Street, University Green and Spinningfields in Manchester, and our location in Glossop, all while staying true to our promise of Northern hospitality. There are plenty of reasons we’re the best coffee shop in Liverpool, but really, it’s our commitment to becoming part of your daily routine. Head to St. Luke’s (locally known as the ‘Bombed-Out church’). You’ll find yourself at the bottom of Bold Street, where we’re just a couple of minutes walk up the road.

Our Coffee
As the best coffee shop in Liverpool city centre, we let each fresh crop do the talking. We roast in-house and keep things fresh with roast-to-order batches.
Of course, this is while our talented baristas are pouring hand-picked guest coffees from independent roasters. Right now, guests of Bold Street Coffee can sample single origins from partners we know by name.
There’s Pulsa from Brazil’s CARPEC co-op in Cerrado (developed with our green-bean partners Langdon Coffee Merchants).
When you're looking for top-tier speciality coffee in Liverpool, you’ll see it pulling at Cross Street, University Green and Spinningfields.
Speciality coffee from Amalfi, Antioquia, (El Jaragual) processed with yeast inoculation and thermal shock. We also keep a sugarcane EA decaf from Tolima called Passiflora.

Our Menu
Our job, as a coffee shop, is to make sure you leave satisfied. Whether that’s full of coffee or full from one of our classic breakfasts, our menu is made for guests with every kind of schedule. Pop in for a quick cup or grab a table.
Coffee & Hot Drinks
At Bold Street, we pour a full line-up: espresso, long black, Americano, batch brew filter, piccolo, cortado, flat white, cappuccino and latte, plus mocha, matcha or chai, and even hot chocolate.
Little ones (and four-legged friends) aren’t left out thanks to our babaccino and puppaccino. Our dairy and oat milk options are free to switch, with almond and coconut available too. Coffee in Liverpool, just how you like it!

Fancy something chilled?
We’ve got you covered when you want speciality coffee Liverpool-style but over ice. Choose from iced latte, iced mocha, iced Americano, iced chai, iced matcha and iced chocolate, along with cold brew (just ask your server for the brew of the day).
There’s also iced tea (classic or fruit) and an Arnold Palmer made with fruit iced tea and Fritz lemonade. Other options include a range of soft drinks, like Daily Dose juices, the Fritz range, Momo kombucha and rotating Mojushots.
Food
It’d be wrong to enjoy the best coffee in Liverpool without a bite to eat.
Our Bold Street kitchen centres on Buoys – toasted brioche buns filled with options like our scrambled eggs and cheese, sausage patty and egg, bacon and egg, or a plant-based option with aubergine patty and smashed avocado.
You’ll also find butties (bacon, sausage, or both), porridge with seasonal toppings, French toast, pancakes, eggs on toast, smashed avo, chestnut mushrooms on toast, BSC beans on toast and the BSC Fry or Veggie Fry.
We round things off with Benedicts (Royale and Florentine) plus sides like hash browns and grilled tomatoes.
Dietary Options
Across our menu, you’ll see clear markers for vegetarian (V) and vegan (Ve) dishes, and our drinks board highlights milk choices: dairy and oat at no extra charge, with almond and coconut also available.
